I'm a big fan of after school clubs. It's not so much the mind-expanding nature of the classes as the fact I get an extra half an hour to catch my breath before the school run.
On Monday Ava has French and to date I've spent well over a hundred pounds so that she can count to ten, name a few random animals and architectural features, sing an inaccurate description of a rainbow and call her brother a rascal in a foreign language.
It does also mean I have to entertain the said rascal for an extra 30 minutes before he can get on with his favourite afternoon entertainment - annoying his sister.
Today, we used the time to make some pressed flower bookmarks. OK, so it's not a classic boys activity, but then my son is very much in touch with his feminine side and consequently he loved doing this.
We cut a piece of stiff card 5cm x 25cm long which I coated with spray glue. Oscar then let his artistic nature run wild with the flowers we pressed a couple of weeks ago before I protected the whole thing with some cover film (although a laminator would have been easier and neater).
He even made one to give to his big sister - which I'm sure will soften the blow as he wrecks another of her works of art, runs off with one of her favourite toys or tries to sit on her head.
oh, what fun!:-)
and your bookmarks came out beautifully!:-)
thanks for letting us see!:-)
